Binhai Lake Golf Club

Binhai Lake Golf Club is a links-style golf course designed by renowned architect Pete Dye, located about an hour’s drive from downtown Tianjin. Stretching along the southern shore of Huanggang Reservoir and bordering Tianjin Binhai New Area Forest Park, it hosted two Volvo China Opens in 2012 and 2013.

The 27-hole course’s unique difficulty, length, and overall contours make BFGC the most challenging golf course in the Tianjin area. The three 9-hole courses feature a total of 120 bunkers surrounding the greens and fairways and cover over 160,000 square meters of water. The designer cleverly used the letter “V” as the topography of each of the 9 holes of Binhai Lake Golf Club, representing different styles and enjoyments, namely North Lake, South Sand, and West Forest.

The construction of tees, fairways and greens at BFGC is strictly in accordance with USGA standards. There are 15cm of gravel and 20cm of river sand on the base soil to ensure the permeability and drainage of salt and alkali in the soil. Meanwhile, bentgrass is mainly used in this golf course except for rough areas.

In addition to the well-designed golf courses, Binhai Lake Golf Club also has a two-tiered driving range with 48 real bentgrass putting greens for beginners and players to enjoy the fun of golf. The course also has perfect facilities such as an 8000-square-meter European-style clubhouse, a dining room with delicious Chinese cuisine, a signature golf library, a classic winery and an elegant cigar room, where members and guests can enjoy a high-end lifestyle.
