Nha Trang has everything the coastal Vietnam golf trip is supposed to look like: blue water, warm weather from January through August, an international airport, good resort accommodation, and three championship courses spread across one of the most scenic stretches of the South-Central coast.
The city sits in what is now the expanded Khanh Hoa Province, following the merger of Ninh Thuan and Khanh Hoa in July 2025. The beaches, the courses, and the I-Resort hot springs haven’t moved.
Diamond Bay Golf Villas is the course that gets the most attention from serious players. At 7,244 yards with a slope rating of 146, it’s the most technically demanding of the three — divided into the Ruby and Diamond nine-hole loops with Paspalum turf throughout. That slope rating is not for the faint-hearted.
KN Golf Links in Cam Ranh, about 45 minutes south of Nha Trang city, takes a different approach. The 27-hole layout sits on the Bai Dai peninsula — long white sand, blue water on three sides, and the kind of coastal scenery that makes a mediocre round feel better than it was. It’s a links-influenced layout that uses the natural terrain of the peninsula rather than fighting it.
Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang operates on Hon Tre Island and is only accessible by cable car — which makes the commute to the first tee an experience in itself. The 18-hole, par-71 layout at 6,787 yards is the most accessible of the three for mixed-ability groups, and the island setting alongside 800 metres of white sand beach makes it a reliable stay-and-play base.
After the round, Nha Trang delivers. Po Nagar Cham Towers, the I-Resort hot springs, the offshore islands for snorkelling, and Binh Ba Island’s seafood are all within reach. It’s a city that earns a longer stay than most golfers plan for.

Discover some of the best golf courses near Nha Trang, just 1-2 hours away. These premier courses feature championship greens, breathtaking mountain views, and world-class facilities for every golfer.
Nha Trang is one of Vietnam’s most established beach cities, and its golf offer has matured to match. Three courses operate within the Nha Trang and Cam Ranh area, each with a different setting and character. One sits on a private island, another runs along the mainland coastline with bay views, and the third is built on a peninsula near the airport with a links layout and a separate course for night golf. That variety, combined with a strong beach and resort infrastructure, an international airport, and easy access to island hopping and hot springs, makes Nha Trang one of the more complete golf and leisure destinations in southern Vietnam.
The city sits on the coast of Khanh Hoa Province, about 450 kilometres north of Ho Chi Minh City. Cam Ranh International Airport handles domestic flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City as well as a growing number of international connections. Forbes Magazine has included Nha Trang Bay among the 30 most beautiful bays on earth, which is the kind of recognition that benefits the golf tourism pitch whether or not you care about rankings.
Nha Trang suits golfers who want to combine courses with a proper beach holiday, couples and families where golf is one activity among several, and travelers building a broader southern Vietnam itinerary that might include Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, or Phan Thiet.
Three courses give you enough variety for a three to six day trip without repeating the same layout.
According to GolfLux course information, KN Golf Links Cam Ranh is a 27-hole facility located on Bai Dai peninsula in Cam Ranh city. The facility includes an 18-hole Links Course and a 9-hole Oasis Course. The Oasis Course offers night golf, which is uncommon in Vietnam.
The Links Course is the main draw, with greens, water hazards, and rolling dunes along the coastline. The Oasis Course serves as a shorter, more relaxed option and is practical for golfers who want to play after dark. The Cam Ranh location means the course is close to the airport, which makes it a convenient first or last round on a Nha Trang trip.
KN Golf Links suits golfers who want a links experience on the coast, night golf enthusiasts, and travelers staying in the Cam Ranh resort area south of the city.
According to GolfLux course information, Diamond Bay Golf and Villas is an 18-hole par 72 course measuring 7,244 yards, with a slope rating of 146. The course is divided into two distinct 9-hole loops called the Ruby and Diamond courses. It uses Platinum TE Paspalum grass and runs along the Nha Trang coastline, with views across Nha Trang Bay.
At 7,244 yards with a slope of 146, this is the most challenging course in the area on paper. The beachfront position means wind is a factor, and the course features natural marshes, pine trees, sandy dunes, and white sand bunkers. Diamond Bay also has what is described as Vietnam’s first hit-to-sea driving range. Golfers can play either the full 18 or opt for a shorter 9-hole round.
Diamond Bay suits golfers who want the longest and most challenging layout in Nha Trang, players who enjoy coastal conditions with wind and sand, and travelers staying in the city centre who want a course close to Nha Trang proper.
According to GolfLux course information, Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang is an 18-hole par 71 course measuring 6,787 yards with a slope rating of 128.5, designed by IMG Worldwide. It is located on Hon Tre Island within the Vinpearl resort complex, accessed by cable car or boat from the mainland. The course stretches along 800 metres of white sand beach.
This is Vietnam’s first international standard golf course built on an island. The setting is unusual: you are playing on a private island in Nha Trang Bay, surrounded by ocean views from most holes. The Vinpearl complex includes 5-star hotels, villas, a water park, and multiple dining options, which makes it a self-contained resort destination. The course is shorter and slightly less punishing than Diamond Bay, which makes it accessible to a wider range of abilities.
Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang suits resort-oriented golfers, families, and travelers who want the novelty of island golf combined with a full resort experience.
Which course is better?
If you want the toughest test with the highest slope rating, Diamond Bay is the pick. If you want a unique island golf experience inside a full resort complex, Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang is hard to beat for setting. KN Golf Links offers the best links character and adds night golf as a bonus. For a multi-day trip, playing all three across four or five days gives you a proper Nha Trang golf holiday with real variety between rounds.
Nha Trang benefits from one of the more favorable climates for golf in Vietnam. The city is sheltered by mountains to the west, which reduces monsoon impact compared to destinations further north.
January to August. The best window. This is the dry season in Nha Trang, with warm temperatures, low rainfall, and the kind of clear skies that make the bay look its best. Conditions are comfortable for golf throughout the day, though morning rounds are more pleasant in July and August when temperatures peak.
September to December. The rainy season. Showers are most common in the afternoons, particularly from October to November. Morning tee times usually avoid the worst of the rain, and many golfers appreciate the cooler temperatures and quieter courses during this period. Green fees may be lower and tee time availability easier.
Year-round note. Nha Trang is playable in every month of the year. Even during the wet season, rain tends to come in short bursts rather than all-day events. The island location of Vinpearl means you should check marine conditions if you are using the boat transfer, as rough seas can occasionally affect access.
Nha Trang works well as a three to six day golf programme, and its position on Vietnam’s southern coast makes it easy to combine with Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat, or Quy Nhon.
A typical Nha Trang golf package includes hotel accommodation at a beachfront hotel or the Vinpearl resort, Cam Ranh airport transfers, tee times at two or three courses, caddie and cart, and usually one non-golf excursion such as an island hopping tour, an I-Resort hot springs visit, or a city sightseeing day.

Nha Trang is one of the easier Vietnam golf destinations for non-golfing companions. The beaches, island tours, mud baths at I-Resort, Po Nagar Cham towers, snorkelling, and the city’s seafood scene provide more than enough activities for a full week without stepping on a course.
This is where Nha Trang distinguishes itself from inland golf destinations. Playing Vinpearl Golf on Hon Tre Island is a fundamentally different experience from any mainland course, and the cable car ride across the bay to reach the resort has become a Nha Trang landmark in its own right.
Beyond the island, Nha Trang Bay is home to multiple smaller islands accessible by boat tour. Snorkelling trips to Mun Island, where glass-bottom boats let you view living coral reefs, are popular half-day excursions. Binh Ba Island, known locally as “lobster island,” is a short boat ride away and known for its fresh seafood.
On the mainland, Po Nagar Cham Towers are an ancient Hindu temple complex built by the Cham civilization, located just north of the city centre. I-Resort offers mineral mud bathing and hot spring pools, which is a popular post-golf recovery activity.
Booking tee times in Nha Trang is best handled alongside accommodation and transfers, particularly for Vinpearl Golf, which requires crossing to Hon Tre Island. All three courses are in different locations (Cam Ranh, Nha Trang city coast, and Hon Tre Island), so transfer logistics matter.
When booking, confirm:
One practical tip: schedule KN Golf Links on arrival or departure day since it is closest to the airport. Save Vinpearl for a day when you can spend the full day on the island and enjoy the resort facilities after your round. Diamond Bay works well on any day since it is between the airport and the city. And if you play night golf at KN Golf Links’ Oasis Course, plan it for an evening when you have a free afternoon for rest or sightseeing.
You can actually enjoy golfing in Nha Trang any time of the year! While the most popular period is from January to August when the weather is warm and dry—perfect for a day on the greens—the courses are open all year round. During the rainy season from September to December, you might experience some showers, but many golfers appreciate the cooler temperatures and fewer crowds. The rain often comes in short bursts, leaving plenty of time to play. So, no matter when you decide to visit, you’ll have the chance to tee off in this beautiful coastal city!

No. Nha Trang courses welcome daily-fee players and tourists with no handicap or membership required. Just book a tee time, pay the green fee, and you’re set. Many courses don’t even ask for your handicap unless you’re entering a tournament. This makes it easy for casual golfers and travelers to play without the formality of membership.

Nha Trang offers a more relaxed, resort-style experience with fewer courses but beautiful coastal scenery. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have more course variety and higher competition but busier, more urban settings. Nha Trang suits golfers seeking a laid-back beach vacation combined with golf; the other cities appeal to serious players wanting multiple rounds and technical challenges. Courses in all three regions are affordable by international standards.
