Thanh Hoa doesn’t usually top the Vietnam golf shortlist. That’s part of what makes it worth your attention.
Most visitors know the province for Sam Son Beach, the ancient citadel of Ho Dynasty, or the wild trekking terrain of Pu Luong Nature Reserve. Golfers have their own reason to make the trip: FLC Sam Son Golf Links, Vietnam’s first true seaside links course, designed by Nicklaus Design and built right along the East Sea coastline.
The layout stretches 7,242 yards at par 72, with holes exposed to sea wind for much of the round. Nicklaus Design built the course to use the coastal terrain honestly — you’re playing alongside the ocean, not just near it. March through June offers the warmest weather with lower winds, making it the sweet spot for playing. The coast stays warm from March to October overall, but it gets cooler from November to February. Plan accordingly based on your wind tolerance and preferred temperature.
