Dubai Golf Courses: Book Tee Times & Experience the UAE's Best Golf in 2026/2027

Golf Course Map

Dubai has built one of the most concentrated collections of high-quality golf courses in the world, and the engineering effort that goes into maintaining them in a desert environment is part of what makes playing here feel unlike anywhere else.

Emirates Golf Club is where Dubai golf began in 1988, and the Majlis Course remains one of the most recognisable layouts in Asia. The iconic clubhouse modelled on Bedouin tents, the mature trees lining the fairways, and the tournament pedigree from decades of hosting the Dubai Desert Classic give it a character that newer courses in the city are still building toward. The Faldo Course at Emirates is equally serious, with a more technically demanding routing.

Jumeirah Golf Estates pushes the ambition further with two Greg Norman-designed courses: the Earth Course, which has hosted the DP World Tour Championship for over a decade as the season-ending event, and the Fire Course, which offers a contrast in terrain and visual character. Playing the Earth Course means playing where the European Tour’s richest event is decided, which gives the round a context that casual golfers and serious players appreciate equally.

Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club adds a third distinct environment with a waterfront layout next to the historic creek, and the floodlit driving range that extends into the evening is one of the more unusual practice facilities in golf.

Green fees in Dubai sit at the premium end of the global market, which the course quality and facility standards justify for most visiting golfers. The October to April season gives a reliable window for comfortable play.

Dubai Golf Guide: Where to Play, When to Go, and How to Plan a Dubai Golf Holiday

Dubai has built one of the most complete metropolitan golf circuits outside of Asia’s major hubs, and it has done so in a desert city that did not exist in recognizable form fifty years ago. Ten courses are listed in the GolfLux database, and the architect credentials behind them are remarkable: the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates is a Greg Norman design at 7,706 yards with a slope of 140 that hosts the DP World Tour Championship, the richest event in European golf. The ELS Club at Dubai Sports City is Ernie Els’s first Middle East design at 7,538 yards. Emirates Golf Club’s Majlis Course opened in 1988 as the first all-grass golf course in the Middle East. The Faldo Course at Emirates Golf Club is a Sir Nick Faldo design. Address Montgomerie was designed by Colin Montgomerie. Trump International Golf Club is a Gil Hanse design at 7,229 yards. That concentration of major professional golf names across ten courses in a single city is unusual anywhere in the world.

The practical appeal for visiting golfers combines the course quality with Dubai’s position as one of the most connected aviation hubs on the planet. Emirates and Flydubai serve over 150 destinations, making Dubai accessible from virtually anywhere without a meaningful connection penalty. And unlike many golf destinations in this series, the non-golf program in Dubai, from the Dubai Frame to the desert safari to the Palm Jumeirah to the Dubai Mall, is independently compelling enough that non-golfing partners have a complete program without any coordination with the golf schedule.

Dubai suits dedicated golf groups who want named-architect courses with DP World Tour heritage, international travelers using Dubai as a hub who want to add serious golf to a transit stop, and golfers from Europe, Africa, or South Asia who want a winter golf escape with tournament-standard courses.

Best golf courses in Dubai

Ten courses are listed. Five form the core visiting program.

  1. Jumeirah Golf Estates Earth Course

Jumeirah Golf Estates Earth Course is an 18-hole, par 72 layout measuring 7,706 yards with a slope of 140, designed by Greg Norman, located on the E311 road about 20 kilometers from Dubai Investments Park according to the club. The course hosts the DP World Tour Championship, the season-ending event of the European Tour’s Race to Dubai, which gives it the most significant professional tournament hosting credential of any Dubai course. Norman’s design uses natural desert landscaping, rolling terrain, and strategic water features across a layout that was built specifically to test the world’s best players at the highest level.

It is the most prestigious course in Dubai for any golfer who follows professional golf, and the tournament-conditioning standard maintained for the DP World Championship is what visiting golfers experience. It suits experienced low-handicap golfers who want to play where the European Tour’s biggest event is decided.

  1. Jumeirah Golf Estates Fire Course

Jumeirah Golf Estates Fire Course is an 18-hole, par 72 layout measuring 7,480 yards with a slope of 136, also at the Jumeirah Golf Estates on the E311 road according to the club. Sharing the property with the Earth Course, the Fire Course has a warmer color palette in its landscaping using desert tones and reds, giving the two courses distinct visual characters. At 7,480 yards it is a proper championship test, and the 36-hole venue allows golfers staying at Jumeirah Golf Estates to cover both courses across two playing days.

  1. The ELS Club

The ELS Club at Dubai Sports City is an 18-hole, par 72 links-style layout measuring 7,538 yards, designed by Ernie Els, described as his first design in the Middle East according to the club. The links-style character, unusual for a desert city course, creates a different playing experience from the parkland-influenced Jumeirah and Emirates layouts, with more open fairways and wind playing a stronger role in shot selection. At 7,538 yards it is the longest course in the Dubai listing.

  1. Emirates Golf Club Majlis Course

Emirates Golf Club Majlis Course is an 18-hole, par 72 layout measuring 7,301 yards, opened in 1988 as the first all-grass golf course in the Middle East according to the club. The historical significance of the Majlis is substantial: it was the first grass course in the region and set the standard for what followed. It has hosted the Dubai Desert Classic multiple times, giving it tournament heritage alongside the historical landmark status. The Majlis is the most historically significant course in Gulf golf.

Which course is better?

The Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates is the DP World Championship venue and the most prestigious single round in Dubai. The Fire Course pairs with it for a two-day Jumeirah program. The ELS Club offers the most distinctive playing character as a links-style layout in the desert. Emirates Majlis carries the most historical significance. Most five to seven day Dubai programs rotate through all five.

Best time to play golf in Dubai

Dubai’s climate is the most important planning consideration for any visit. The UAE’s official tourism authority notes temperatures exceed 40 degrees Celsius in July and August, which makes outdoor golf impractical for most visitors. The winter months are when Dubai golf tourism concentrates.

November to April is the primary golf window. Temperatures are around 20 to 28 degrees Celsius from December through February, genuinely comfortable for a full round at any time of day. The DP World Tour Championship typically takes place in late November, which is one of the most active weeks in Dubai golf. Green fees are at their highest in this window, and course availability at the premium venues requires advance booking.

October and April to May are shoulder months. Temperatures are warm but manageable for early morning rounds before 8am. Green fees are lower than peak winter rates.

June to September is not recommended for visiting golfers. The combination of extreme heat and humidity makes outdoor physical activity genuinely dangerous for unacclimatized visitors.

Night golf is available at several Dubai courses, noted on the GolfLux destination page, including Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club. An illuminated evening round avoids the heat entirely for golfers who are in Dubai during shoulder months and removes the midday heat problem from the equation.

Dubai golf holidays and package tours

Dubai suits four to eight day standalone golf programs or as the UAE component of a combined Dubai and Abu Dhabi circuit. Dubai International Airport is one of the world’s busiest by passenger volume, with direct connections from every continent and minimal transit times. That accessibility makes Dubai one of the easiest premium golf destinations to reach from Europe, South Asia, or East Africa for a winter escape.

Most Dubai golf packages cover five-star hotel accommodation in the main hotel corridors, private car transfers to each course, tee times with caddie, and at least one non-golf activity such as a desert safari, a dhow cruise on the Creek, or a visit to the Burj Khalifa observation deck.

Practical package formats:

4 days Dubai golf package with three rounds at Jumeirah Golf Estates Earth and Fire courses and Emirates Majlis

5 days Dubai golf package with four rounds across the main Dubai courses and one desert safari evening

6 days Dubai golf package with five rounds covering the full circuit from USD 855 per person

7 days Dubai golf package with six rounds and additional city days

8 days Dubai golf package extending the circuit to include Abu Dhabi from USD 1,155 per person

Address Montgomerie stay and play: 5 days 4 nights at the Montgomerie with multiple rounds from USD 695 per person

For couples, Dubai’s non-golf program is among the deepest of any destination in the GolfLux network. The Burj Khalifa observation deck, the Dubai Mall with its aquarium and ice rink, the Dubai Frame, the Gold and Spice Souks in Deira, and the Palm Jumeirah monorail all sit within manageable transfers of each other and the main golf venues. Browse all Dubai golf packages or create a custom Dubai itinerary that covers the full course circuit.

Golf with Dubai’s city experience and the desert

The Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, an 18-hole, par 71 layout measuring 6,967 yards with a slope of 136 located next to the Dubai Creek, voted a must-play golf course in the UAE according to the club, offers the most distinctively urban round in Dubai. The Creek position gives views of the traditional dhow harbor and the Deira skyline from parts of the course, and the yacht club infrastructure adjacent gives it a waterfront character different from the inland desert courses. The airport proximity, a few minutes from Dubai International, makes it the most practical same-day round for golfers with an early departure or late arrival.

Arabian Ranches Golf Club is an 18-hole, par 72 layout measuring 7,691 yards in the Arabian Ranches residential community, described as the only grass course in the Middle East located in a desert environment according to the club. The desert landscape integration and the 7,691-yard length from the back tees give it a specific character. At that yardage it is the longest course in the Dubai listing.

The desert safari, available through Dubai Tourism-licensed operators across multiple price points, is the most cited evening activity for golfers visiting in the winter season. The standard program covers a 4×4 dune bashing session on the desert dunes outside the city, a traditional Bedouin camp dinner, camel rides, and sandboarding. For golfers who play a morning round and want a shared evening activity with non-golfing partners, the desert safari takes 3H – 4H from hotel pickup to return and requires no advance physical preparation.

Book tee times in Dubai

The Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates fills fastest, particularly during the DP World Tour Championship week in late November and throughout December and January peak season. Booking two to three weeks ahead for peak winter slots is the sensible minimum. Emirates Majlis and the ELS Club are generally accessible with a week’s notice outside of tournament week. The Montgomerie are typically open with a few days’ advance booking outside of national holidays.

When organizing a Dubai golf program, confirm Earth Course and Emirates Majlis as priority bookings for peak winter dates, hotel accommodation in the New Dubai or Business Bay corridor for the most convenient access to the western suburban courses, private car transfers to all venues as the standard approach given the distances and summer heat prohibition on walking, and how any desert safari or city sightseeing days align with the playing schedule. Start planning here or view all Dubai golf packages to find a program that covers the full ten-course Dubai circuit.

Frequently asked questions about golf in Dubai

October through April is the ideal window. November through February offers the most comfortable conditions, with temperatures between 18°C and 28°C and almost no rain. March and April are still excellent but progressively warmer. May through September is not recommended for daytime golf: summer temperatures regularly exceed 40°C and humidity from June through August can make outdoor activity genuinely dangerous. Some courses offer early morning or floodlit evening golf during summer for residents, but visiting golfers should plan around the October to April season. The Dubai Desert Classic typically takes place in January or February, and booking courses around the tournament week requires advance planning as tee times fill early.

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is one of the world’s busiest hubs with direct connections from virtually every major city. Transfer times to courses vary by location. Emirates Golf Club and Jumeirah Golf Estates are in the Jebel Ali and Media City corridor, about 30 to 45 minutes from DXB depending on traffic. Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club is closer to Deira and the airport at about 15 to 20 minutes. The Dubai Metro connects the airport to central areas, but private transfers are recommended for golfers with club bags. GolfLux can arrange private airport transfers timed to your tee time.

Dubai has a well-established programme of activities beyond the course. The Burj Khalifa observation deck on the 124th and 148th floors provides a perspective on the city’s scale that no other viewpoint matches. The Dubai Mall’s aquarium, ice rink, and dining strip are all within the same building. Dubai Creek and the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood in the older part of the city give some sense of pre-oil Dubai that the newer developments don’t. Desert safari tours leaving from the city in the late afternoon and returning after dinner are a standard experience that most visiting golfers include at least once. The Dubai Food Festival in February and March is worth timing a visit around if food travel is part of the agenda.
