Best Hoi An Golf Courses for 2026/2027
Hoi An doesn’t need much of an introduction as a travel destination. The Ancient Town is UNESCO-listed, the lantern-lit streets fill up every evening, and the food — Cao Lau, White Rose dumplings, Banh Mi — has its own international reputation. What surprises most golfers is how strong the golf is here too.
Following the merger of Da Nang and former Quang Nam Province in July 2025, Hoi An now sits within the expanded Da Nang administrative region. The Ancient Town, the courses, and the 25 km drive from Da Nang airport are unchanged. What’s changed is that Hoi An’s three courses are now part of one of the largest and most competitive golf regions in Vietnam.
Montgomerie Links is the most celebrated of the three. Rated among Asia’s top courses by the 2012 Forbes Travel Guide, the 18-hole, par-72, 7,019-yard layout uses its coastal position well — wind, sea views, and a design that Colin Montgomerie himself shaped to reward smart play over power. It holds up as a benchmark Hoi An round.
Hoiana Shores Golf Club, just 8 km from the Ancient Town, brings a different kind of challenge. The 7,004-yard, par-71 layout runs along an unspoiled stretch of coastline and through natural terrain that remains largely undeveloped. It’s a course that rewards players who pay attention to conditions rather than just swinging hard.
Vinpearl Golf Nam Hoi An rounds out the options within the full Vinpearl Nam Hoi An Resort & Spa complex — a beachfront property that works well as a complete stay-and-play base, especially for groups with non-golfing travellers.
Three courses, one ancient town, 25 minutes from the airport. Hoi An makes the case for being the best value central Vietnam golf base outside of Da Nang itself.
