Ballyshear Golf Links

Ban Rakat, Bang Bo District, Samut Prakan 10560, Thailand

Situated where the Kiarti Thanee Country Club used to be, near Bangkok, Thailand, you’ll find the Ban Rakat area, which is now home to the Ballyshear Golf Links. This spot is about 40 minutes away from downtown Bangkok and just 25 minutes from Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

The famous designer Gil Hanse has crafted a special kind of golf course at the Ban Rakat Club. This course is like a blast from the past, and it’s the first of its kind in Thailand. The Ballyshear Golf Links stands out, it’s all about playing on wide-open areas with lots of water, rolling greens, and tricky shots where you can’t see where the hole is. To do well here, the advice from your caddie is very important.

Hanse did something really cool – he made the 18 holes at Ballyshear Golf Links similar to a legendary golf course called The Lido Golf Club, made by some clever people a long time ago. This special course was created in the 1910s but disappeared during a big war.

Most golf courses in Asia look modern, but Ballyshear is different with its classic style. There’s also a fancy new building where people can hang out after playing, designed by a super famous architect named Kengo Kuma & Associates. They usually make huge and important buildings, but this is their first golf place.
