Beijing Jinghui Golf Club

Beijing Jinghui Golf Club opened in June 2000 in Fangshan District, on the southwestern edge of Beijing. The course sits in Qinglong Lake Town, with Yan Mountain to the north, Qinglong Lake to the south, and Beijing National Forest Park to the east. From the city center, it is about 40 minutes by car via the Beijing-Shijiazhuang Expressway and the West Sixth Ring Road.

The 18-hole layout plays to par 72 across 7,036 yards from the back tees, with a course rating of 73.1 and a slope of 123. Fairways run between 50 and 80 yards wide, which is generous by most standards, the course rewards players who can work the ball into position rather than punishing off-center drives outright. The challenge comes from the terrain itself and the water, not from particularly tight corridors off the tee.

Course Overview

The routing makes direct use of what the site offers. Several fairways run alongside the lake, and the elevation changes between holes give the layout a three-dimensional quality that flat parkland courses in the region tend to lack. Mountain views are a consistent feature through the round, and the combination of water, rolling hills, and tree cover means the course plays differently depending on where the wind is coming from.

Water comes into play on a number of holes. Some carries are modest; others require a committed shot. The greens are medium in size and tend to follow the natural contours of the ground rather than heavy artificial shaping. Reading them correctly particularly when the pin is on a raised portion, takes a few holes to calibrate.

The course bills itself as the first in Beijing to be built to international standard. That claim is hard to verify independently at this point, but the layout does hold up as a legitimate test: the slope of 123 and rating of 73.1 put it in the same bracket as mid-to-upper tier public courses in most markets.
