If you’re looking to play golf in Bac Ninh or just want to escape Hanoi for a proper round, Corn Hill Golf & Resort has quietly become one of the more interesting options north of the capital.
The course sits in Luc Nam District, Bac Giang about 30km from Bac Ninh City and 70km from central Hanoi. An hour-ish drive, depending on traffic. Not the closest golf course near Hanoi, but golfers who’ve made the trip tend to say it’s worth it.
What makes Corn Hill different is the terrain. The resort sits amidst rolling hills and lush greenery, with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from each hole. Most golf courses around Hanoi are flat. This one isn’t and that changes how the game feels. The wide fairways, cleverly placed bunkers, and lake system are laid out to let players take in the full scenery of Luc Nam while still presenting real technical challenges.
The 36-hole layout was designed by Brett Mogg of Nelson & Haworth. Par 3s carry over water, the par 5s stretch out to test experienced players, and the par 4s leave room for birdies if you’re on your game. The greens have steep slopes by design built to drain fast and stay firm. Early reviews note the greens run relatively firm, with some early inconsistencies as the course matures. That’s normal for a course that only opened in 2024.
The full 36-hole build-out is still in progress. Currently 27 holes are playable, with the complete course expected once the western 18 finishes construction. The clubhouse has a restaurant, locker rooms, and a practice area already up.
For golfers based in Hanoi or Bac Ninh looking for something different hilly terrain, a proper layout, and fewer crowds than the bigger resort courses.
