Dancoon Golf Club is a challenging 18-hole golf club in Khon Kaen and is conveniently located 15 kilometers from the Khon Kaen city center or 10 minutes by car from the Khon Kaen airport. Opened in 2008, Dancoon Golf Club was the first international visitor friendly facility in Thailand’s north east section of Issan. Two years later Dancoon Golf Club hosted the 2010 Asian Seniors.
The signature hole 11 is a 154 yard par-3 requires an accurate tee shot to hit the island green that slopes front to back. A tee shot towards the back of the green makes for an easy uphill put and birdy opportunity. Short of the flag necessitates a steep downhill put that just might result in a three-putt bogey. The front nine is shorter while the back nine is the longer and more demanding. Dancoon Golf Club caters to players of all abilities, but can be very challenging especially when difficult pin positions are in play.
The clubhouse of contemporary Asian themed clubhouse is nice, especially for this part of Thailand. The restaurant features Thai and International cuisine is a friendly golf environment. There is an on-site colonial mansion styled hotel, but foreign golf tourists are better served using the locker facilities in the clubhouse and staying in Khon Kaen city itself.
