The Legacy Course at Forest City Golf Resort in Johor, Malaysia was designed by none other than legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus and officially opened its doors in September 2018. This world-class golf resort is located just a short 25-minute drive away from Johor city center and is part of the sprawling Forest City development, which is a massive US$100 billion real estate project that spans over 30 square kilometers of reclaimed islands between Malaysia and Singapore.
The Legacy Course winds its way along the Pulai River and features stretches of sandy wastelands that give the course a desert-like feel. To create this course, millions of tons of ocean sand were dredged to raise the playing surfaces and provide excellent drainage during the wet season.
The backdrop of the course features a large forested hill that is preserved and adds to the scenic beauty of the 9th and 18th holes. Golfers will be thrilled with the challenging holes, including the 4th along the riverside, the roomy par-five 8th, and the short but tricky par-four 6th and 11th holes. The clubhouse, located within the 5-star Forest City Golf Hotel, features top-notch amenities such as a 21-bay full-length driving range, restaurants, a swimming pool, tennis courts, and a fitness center.
