Royal Colombo Golf Club

WV4M+3MW, Model Farm Rd, Colombo, Sri Lanka

The Royal Colombo Golf Club is one of the oldest golf courses in Sri Lanka, built in 1896. It also takes pride of the 2nd oldest royal golf club outside the United Kingdom.

This golf course situates in the capital city of Colombo, just about 40 minutes from the Colombo International Airport. It is also home to the Sri Lanka Golf Union – the governing body of golf in Sri Lanka, taking responsibility for maintaining a connection with the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews in Scotland.

Royal Colombo Golf Club has been upgraded several times to ensure the best golf experience for every player, replacing greens and fairways’ grass, upgrading the irrigation system, reshaping existing water hazards, and removing unwanted trees. The management board also puts on two new holes next to the current 14th, bringing more playing options and assisting future renovation if needed.

Not only bringing a delightful golf experience, but Royal Colombo Golf Club is also an ideal destination for an escape from bustling city life. It has a clubhouse with a relaxing atmosphere where golfers can relax and enjoy mouth-watering dishes. There is also a newly renovated Pro Shop, which is well-stocked with high-qualified golf equipment to cater to golfers’ needs.
