The Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, and the Killing Fields memorial at Choeung Ek are all important sites that form part of any serious visit to the city. The Mekong and Tonle Sap riverfront in the early evening is worth an hour’s walk or a sunset boat trip, and the food around Sisowath Quay ranges from street-side Khmer cooking to riverside restaurants.
