9-day Central Vietnam golf, onsen & heritage tour

0 review

This 9-day Central Vietnam golf package covers four courses, two onsen resorts, and the UNESCO old towns of Hue and Hoi An. It’s a lot for 9 days, but the pacing works because the golf and recovery days alternate well.

The four rounds take you through very different terrain. Golden Sands (Nicklaus Design) plays along the Hue coast with ocean wind and sand dunes. Laguna Lang Co (Nick Faldo) weaves through jungle, rice paddies, and mountain views. BRG Da Nang is a Greg Norman links course right on the beach where crosswinds will test your shot-making. Ba Na Hills (Luke Donald) is the inland contrast, set in misty foothills about 30 minutes from Da Nang. Each central golf course has its own character, which keeps things interesting across the 9 days golf itinerary.

Between rounds, you stay at Kobi Onsen Resort in Hue and Mikazuki Japanese Resort in Da Nang. Both use natural hot spring mineral water, and after four rounds in the Vietnamese heat, the soaking sessions feel less like a luxury add-on and more like a necessity. The non-golf days include a guided visit to Hue’s Imperial Citadel, the Royal Tombs, and an evening in Hoi An’s lantern-lit old quarter.

The package includes 8 nights in 4-5 star hotels (including Angsana or Banyan Tree Lang Co), all green fees and caddie fees, private transfers throughout, an English-speaking guide, and entrance tickets. Golf holidays like this one work best when someone else handles the logistics, and Golflux manages everything from airport pickup to tee times.

Afternoon — Golf Round 1: Golden Sands Golf Resort

Your Central Vietnam journey begins the moment you touch down at Huế Airport (HUI). A private transfer takes you directly to Golden Sands Golf Resort for your first round. Designed by Nicklaus Design and stretching along the Thuận An coastline, this 18-hole layout weaves through natural sand dunes with the East Sea as a constant backdrop. Ocean breezes add a welcome strategic dimension, while the wide fairways let you find your rhythm after travel.

Evening — Kobi Onsen Resort Huế

After your round, check in to Kobi Onsen Resort Huế, your home for the next two nights. This Japanese-inspired wellness retreat draws from the natural Mỹ An hot springs, offering mineral-rich thermal pools designed for deep muscle recovery. Settle in with a leisurely dinner at the resort and let the onsen set the tone for the days ahead.

Included: Private airport transfer –  Accommodation at Kobi Onsen Resort  – 18-hole round with green fee & caddie fee

Morning — Huế Imperial Citadel (UNESCO World Heritage Site)

Your guide leads you through the vast grounds of the Imperial Citadel, the political and ceremonial heart of the Nguyễn Dynasty for nearly 150 years. Explore the Forbidden Purple City, the ornate throne halls, and the serene temple courtyards. Your English-speaking guide brings the stories behind each structure to life, connecting architecture to the emperors who built them.

Afternoon — Royal Tombs

After lunch, visit one of Huế’s celebrated Royal Tombs. The Tomb of Khải Định impresses with its lavish mosaic interiors blending Vietnamese and European styles, while the Tomb of Tự Đức offers a tranquil landscape of lotus ponds, pine groves, and pavilions — more royal garden than mausoleum. Both are architectural masterpieces that reward slow exploration.

Evening — Your Choice

At night you have two wonderful options. Return to Kobi Onsen Resort for a long soak in the thermal pools, ideal for unwinding after a day on your feet. Alternatively, experience one of Huế’s signature traditions: a performance of royal court music aboard a dragon boat drifting along the Perfume River as the city lights reflect on the water.

Included: Private transfers – Accommodation – English-speaking guide – All entrance fees – Breakfast

Morning — Golf Round 2: Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club

Check out of Kobi Onsen and transfer south to Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club for your second championship round. Designed by Sir Nick Faldo, this par-71 course is widely regarded as one of Vietnam’s most visually dramatic layouts. Each hole presents a different landscape — dense tropical jungle on one side, terraced rice paddies on another, and the Trường Sơn mountain range forming a dramatic skyline. The closing holes bring the East Sea into play, making this a round you will remember long after the trip.

Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club is one of The best golf course in Hue

Afternoon — Check in to Angsana or Banyan Tree Lăng Cô

A short transfer brings you to one of Southeast Asia’s finest beachfront resort complexes, where you will spend the next three nights. The property features a private beach, a sprawling lagoon pool, multiple dining venues, and a world-class spa. Spend the rest of the afternoon at your own pace — cocktails by the lagoon, a beachside stroll, or simply settling into your villa.

Included: Private transfers – Accommodation at Angsana/Banyan Tree – 18-hole round with green fee & caddie fee – Breakfast

Today is yours to design. The Lăng Cô resort complex is built for exactly this kind of day: swim in the lagoon pool, kayak along the coastline, book a spa treatment, or simply read on the private beach with the mountains rising behind you.

Golfers who want more time on the fairways can arrange a second round at Laguna Lăng Cô Golf Club (additional fee applies). The course plays differently depending on wind conditions and pin placements, so a return visit often reveals new challenges.

Morning — Scenic Transfer via Hải Vân Pass

Depart Lăng Cô and travel one of Southeast Asia’s most celebrated scenic roads: the Hải Vân Pass. This winding mountain route offers sweeping panoramas where the Trường Sơn range meets the East Sea far below. Your driver takes the coastal route so you can take in the views comfortably before descending into Đà Nẵng.

Afternoon — Golf Round 3: BRG Đà Nẵng Golf Resort

Designed by Greg Norman, the Dunes Course at BRG Đà Nẵng is an authentic coastal links experience. Firm fairways, strategic bunkering, and constant ocean wind demand precise shot-making and creative course management. This is the most tactically demanding round of the tour and a favorite among seasoned golfers.

Evening — Mikazuki Japanese Resort & Spa

Check in to your second onsen resort, Mikazuki Japanese Resort & Spa, and head straight to the Ocean View Onsen. The mineral-rich hot-spring pools overlook the sea, offering panoramic sunset views — the ideal way to release any tension after a challenging day of travel and golf. This resort will be your base for the next three nights.
