Hai Duong sits squarely on the road between Hanoi and Ha Long Bay — about 70 km from the capital, roughly 90 minutes by car — and most golfers have driven straight through it for years. That’s changing.
The terrain here is different from what you find closer to Hanoi. The flat delta gives way to wooded valleys and rolling hills as you move toward Chi Linh, and the courses are built into that landscape rather than on top of it. Fairways wind between hillsides, water comes into play on multiple holes, and the quiet is real. No city noise, no traffic. Just golf in genuinely good air.
One thing worth knowing: as of July 2025, Hai Duong was administratively merged into the expanded Hai Phong province. In practical terms, this means a golfer visiting the area now has access to both Hai Duong’s inland valley courses and Hai Phong’s coastal and island layouts without crossing a provincial border. It makes trip planning more flexible — you can mix terrain types in a single itinerary without covering much ground.
