What is actually cool about them is how they sit right against the skyline, you are hitting off a tee box with these massive, futuristic buildings as a backdrop.
When you go, you can play the same championship loops the pros use on tour. Or, if you are like me and just want a low-stress round while on vacation, you can go out for a quick nine. It does not really matter how good you are; there is a course in Dubai that fits your game.
Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club
You can’t really talk about golf in Dubai without mentioning the Creek. It’s one of those spots that manages to feel calm despite being right in the middle of everything. Between the main 18-hole course, the Par 3, and the mini-golf, there’s enough there to keep you busy for a full weekend. It’s been sitting on various “Top 100” lists for years, and it’s usually the first place I recommend to people visiting for the first time.
What’s nice is that it’s connected to the Park Hyatt, which makes the logistics of a golf trip a lot easier. The academy is a solid resource if your swing needs work, but the real highlights are the holes along the water. They’re intimidating, sure, but the photos you get from the fairways are worth the risk of losing a few balls in the creek.
Arabian Ranches Golf Club
If you’re tired of the hyper-manicured look of most Dubai courses, Arabian Ranches is worth a look. It was designed by Ian Baker-Finch, and he really leaned into the desert setting. Instead of traditional rough, you’re playing around sand dunes and indigenous bushes, which makes the par-72 layout feel a lot more authentic to the location. It’s often ranked as a top-tier destination, but it feels more grounded than the flashier clubs downtown.
The desert landscape makes for a challenging round, but the facility isn’t just for low-handicappers. The PGA-qualified coaches at the academy are there to help if your game is falling apart, and the nine-hole par three course is floodlit, so you can play at night when it’s cooler. They also have a practice green for working on your putting. It’s a straightforward, high-quality spot that fits the neighborhood vibe perfectly.

3. Dubai Hills Golf Club
Dubai Hills opened in relatively recent years and was nominated for both Dubai’s Best Golf Course and World’s Best New Golf Course at the 2019 World Golf Awards. The design works with the natural desert topography, carved fairways, undulating greens, and strategically placed lakes that make it visually different from the more manicured layouts at other clubs.
It has five tee boxes across 18 holes, which means players of different skill levels get a fair test from the right set of tees. Weekday rates are AED 465 and weekend rates run AED 525, putting it in a mid-range bracket for Dubai.
The course has built a loyal following among residents, partly because membership is still available at preferential rates and partly because the course quality has improved steadily since opening. Worth a round if you’re in the area.
The ELS Club
Dubai Sports City is a remarkable complex that offers a range of sports facilities, including the renowned Els Club golf course. Before hitting the links, warm up at the range or visit the on-site performance institute for a physical screening and video analysis to fine-tune your game.
The desert links-style course was crafted from sand, with man-made interventions adding definition to the relatively flat terrain. With its unique design and challenging layout, golfers can look forward to conquering Ernie’s masterpiece under the bright blue skies of Dubai. This golfing experience is one you won’t want to miss out on during your stay in this stunning city.
Address Montgomerie
Spanning 265 acres of land, the Address Montgomerie golf course in Dubai boasts man-made lakes and beautifully landscaped gardens. Designed by Desmond Muirhead, the 18-hole course offers a unique architectural touch, making it a must-play for any avid golfer.
One of the most remarkable holes on the course is the 13th, where the green is shaped like the UAE, adding to the already imaginative layout. The clubhouse is equally impressive, featuring over 20 guest rooms and a luxurious pool, providing golfers with a relaxing retreat after a long day on the course.
Trump International Golf Club
With one of the largest clubhouses in Dubai, the 30,000-square-foot work of art of Trump International Golf Club can be seen protruding from the skyline in the heart of the Damac Hills. Gil Hanse – the designer of the course has allowed it to excel everyone’s prior expectations and has certainly not held back on imagination.
The man-made championship course does not at all look out of place in the desert wasteland, and as you approach the first tee you become confronted with a huge double fairway. Miss here and you may want to retire early.
Emirates Golf Club – The Majlis Course
This award-winning golf club is a must-visit for both pro golfers and beginners alike who are looking for a Dubai golfing experience that exudes class and elegance.
At this club, you will be able to enjoy a top-notch golfing adventure on one of its three best Dubai golf courses, including the Majlis, the Faldo, and Par 3. The Majlis course is particularly noteworthy as it was the first grass golf course in the Arabian world and plays host to the prestigious Dubai Desert Classic tournament.
Jumeirah Golf Estates – Fire Course
Jumeirah Golf Estates has two 18-hole championship courses on 1,119 hectares of land. The Earth Course is where the DP World Tour Championship has been held since 2009, which tells you what level of conditioning and design you’re dealing with. Greg Norman designed both layouts, and the Earth Course in particular rewards course management over raw power.
The Fire Course is slightly shorter and plays differently, with more risk-reward decisions built into the design. Both courses are open to the public.
Green fees run AED 475 (Earth, weekday) and AED 580 (Earth, Friday to Sunday). The Fire Course is a bit more affordable at AED 445 weekdays and AED 495 on weekends. Twilight rates drop to AED 285-350 depending on the day and course. For a course that hosts European Tour events, these prices are reasonable compared to equivalent venues in Europe.
